  • Thanks Kyle, but actually our winterization video does not cover the oil change. While there are difference in opinion, I change the oil in the Spring to start the season with fresh oil. Hey, you just gave me an idea for putting together a Spring time "Readying your boat" video..lol

  • Pretty simple stuff. Level trailer, Warm up engine , extract oil ( put extractor tube down dip stick hole) , change filter, refill oil. Boom

  • This is true, very simple, throw in some tips, tricks and comic relief, now we got us a 15 minute instructional video :)

  • Haha

  • We need a NY style oil change video!

  • Sounds like a plan Bruce, we will be shooting in early May, you available Captain Kenneth J. Nosek?

  • DO NOT leave dirty oil IN the engine. Change it NOW. It's full of dirt and acids

  • I'm sure that's true for many Keith. It is good advice. For me with only 30 hours this season on Royal Purple High Performance Marine Synthetic, its not close to dirty, and I was told synthetic's do not absorb moisture so acids are not an issue. Not to mention the engine only has 90 hours total on it. I start it in the Spring, burn off any residual fogging oil, put in an unneeded set of new plugs, and new synthetic oil. I bet I could leave the same plugs and oil in there for 5 years with no problems at all, not that I would, but these engines are pretty refined.
