Approved motorcycle gloves mandatory in France

From today it is mandatory for motorcyclists in France to carry EC homologated motorcycle gloves. This is the result of an already 2015 decision of the Interministerial Committee for Road Safety, which now enters into force. The rule applies to all drivers of motorcycles, but also for those of tricycles and quadricycles as the Piaggio MP3 or Quadro. Not wearing (approved) gloves can be fined by police or gendarmerie with € 68 fine for the driver and passenger. The new law is the result of a French study which found that 12% of motorcyclists wore no gloves, and would result in 20% of accidents injury to hand or wrist.
