I bought a second FJ 1200 this weekend with a hole in the engine casing due to engine failure. What is the chance to use that engine for spares on my FJ and transplant another engine like R1 or YZF into that chassis ? The bike is bodywise in perfect condition.

  • What are the model years of your FJs? Some parts never changed through the production run, but some did change.

  • My running FJ is 1992. The broken engine one is 1985. I want the 260km/h clocks, 32mm carb rubbers and CDI. Mine is Jap restricted and cannot go past 180km/h or 6,5 k rpm

  • Running bike

  • Broken bike

  • The clocks and the carb rubbers should swap with no problem. The CDI units are different. I would send an email to RPM, rpmracingca.com and/or the FJ owners club in the UK to verify the CDI compatibility

  • 32 mm carb rubbers? Should be 36 cdi Will change mostly . Yours at 160 kmh is most likely restricted on several items look for the number on the cdi fi and carb rubbers carb jets Will be different aswell ignition transmitter support disc

  • Fred Roosjen Thanx for info Fred. I believe all the unrestricted goodies will be on the black bike and I will change the lot.

  • Better change carb complete

  • Only see it Just now. You got the stock exhaust on your running fj . Should change that to. Will gain at least 10 bhp and 8 nm torque

  • Thanx Fred good info!
