  • Pahabol panga pala po ingat din po sa pagdagdag ng washer kung saan idadagdag oh ilalagay. Dahil baka po nadidisregard natin yung alignment ng drive face sa clutch assy. Kasi kapag me idinagdag na washer automatic me pyesa na itutulak yan. Kapag mali ang lagay or sumobra malamang ang hindi na pantay ang lapat ng belt na nagiging dahilan ng pagpag.

I was planning on going for a long ride today on my 1100 Silverado I turned... — Yamaha V-Star riders

I was planning on going for a long ride today on my 1100 Silverado. I turned the key on to check the mileage...when I got ready to go 15 minutes later, I realized that I had LEFT the key on. It turned over a little bit, but wouldn't start. I then put the battery charger on it for about a half hour. I tried it, the engine turned over and started but then died. Then it made a "whistling" sound and smelled like rotten eggs. I went to the only Auto Parts store that was open, but they didn't have the correct battery on hand. I put the original battery back in, and now the lights come on but it just makes a "buzzing" or "clicking" sound when when I push the starter button. Any advice??? All was not lost however, I did manage to get a hundred mile ride in on my '99 V-star!

  • Well.. I thought about it... and how long it took to actually take apart and label everything.... & what a pain in the arse it is... and then... have to do it all over again... & with our luck... maybe its better to let it alone for the year... and hope that next yr.. we have better luck.

  • You have less than a month to enjoy it now anyway. It just wasn't meant to be right now.

  • Josh, thanks for the reminder :( Jeff, you're doing the smart but hard thing. Maybe there is a small project to tackle for the moment. Spring will be very busy for you!!

  • Wow there just isn't a whole lot to these bikes once you take off all the shiny stuff is there...

  • I've finally got in a non scratched lindy bar... and my exhaust.. YAY! I've modified the L&M radiator cover to fit with the Lindbar, and am using the Linbars mounting bracket to give me a free 2" scoot... just had to drill an extra hole in the bracket.. and on the shift mount.. had to grind out a bit of the base to be able to make room... I'll make sure to post pics.... Loren.. ya.. once ya have the shiny stuff off... they are real basic..

  • I'm still negotiating with Colormania on my paint job... they do some very quality work... but getting them to that point... sheesh what a pain in the ass... seems like you have to hound them day in day out... I hate doing that... they are not very good at correspondence or deadlines... they say they will get back to you tomorrow... and a week goes by.

Hi everyone...I have a "issue" with my FJ....When I pull a "quick trottle"..it wouldn't drop the rpm fast as normal, but "hangs" a little before dropping down...whats the reason for this?

  • yes...now it runs much smoother, BUT...now it rises in idle...when warm....and I can only haw choke for a quite short while...I guess it is rich mixture?

  • there is an idle adjustment in the center bottom of the carbs. It gets hot in there so wear gloves.

  • Yes i know that one... i dont think it is the idle knob. The air mix screws are at 3 turns out.

I will try to set them at 2,5... (default settings?)

Is there anyone out there that rode a Vstar 250 then upgraded to a Vstar 650 — Yamaha V-Star riders

Is there anyone out there that rode a Vstar 250- then upgraded to a Vstar 650? I have 1000 miles on my brand new 250- and although it was a necessary first step- it is obvious that it is an inadequate bike to take on the highway and long rides. It buzzes at high speeds and makes my hands ( and feet at 60mph) numb! Will the 650 buzz? and is the 650 less "jumpy" in first gear? I can't test ride a 650 at the dealer, so I am afraid to order it without knowing how it will feel. I don't want a repeat of the same bike.

Does anyone know for sure what bass Billy played on Tony Macalpine s Edge of... — YAMAHA Attitude Ltd

Does anyone know for sure what bass Billy played on Tony Macalpine's Edge of Insanity album? I know the Attitude didn't exist yet, but I wasn't sure if he used the first BB bass or the Wife. I meant to ask Billy himself when I met him in June, but I forgot. It's always been my fave bass tone ever. Thanks

  • Billy, you've played your old Fender in the Greg Howe album too

  • Hi, Billy Sheehan, even when I read the GP article I assumed they meant the "wife" bass as everything I'd read about you at the time referred to the "wife" bass. I'd like to say "thank you" for the inspiration not only to make me a better player but also for inspiring me to "tinker" with my basses. I'm making the journey from Liverpool to London to see The Winery Dogs on Sept 5.

  • Counting the days till The Dogs hit Chicago. Can't wait!!!!!! Maybe I'll bring my BB Bass for Billy to sign?

Anyone else ever have helmet vibration with a short windshield On my 1300cc... — Yamaha V-Star riders

Anyone else ever have helmet vibration with a short windshield? On my 1300cc, when I get about 65-70mph, my helmet gets wind vibration that blurs my vision. When I sit on the bike, my windshield hits at about the top of my chest, just about chin level, maybe a bit lower. I'm wondering if the problem is that the windshield is too short for my height and I need a larger one, or if lower wind deflectors will help? Any input would be appreciated; these parts are all fairly expensive, and I don't want to go buying a bunch of stuff that might not help.

Any one ever had a incident with a semi truck re tread peak off — Yamaha V-Star riders

Any one ever had a incident with a semi truck re-tread peak off?

On my way to work,I was along side a tractor (semi)riding next to its drive tires(which I should not of been doing) thinking to myself those tires are a meat grinder when he puts on his turn signal, I gas it,watching my mirror as I pass his front bumper I see one of those exact tires I was next just 3 seconds before blow! Keep in mind I am in front of the truck but still I hear bits of shrapnel tinging against my pipes!! Then I see re tread starting to peel off. All the way to work I kept saying to myself "did that just happen?!!"

I have rode motorcycles all my life whether street or dirt. Taken quite a few tumbles on the dirt.but this experience has to be the most dangerous and eye opening event in my life.

quite scary!!!!

Moral is;

Car,trike or bike never stay behind or next to a semi or boxed type truck. Always get around it.

Someone was definitely riding with me that morning, that much I truly believe!!!!!

Tighten a little insurance helps a lot, the gear should not rotate freely.I have 40 days from repair, only the first days you could hear the gear, gradually disappears, now without problems. The insurance that is marked with the number 9 is the one you have to press the tip to close.

For those who faults the Bulldog for a lack of power. here you can have 80hp — Yamaha BT1100 Bulldog

For those who faults the Bulldog for a lack of power...here you can have 80hp....but personally i prefer to achieve 140.000 km..and have a good mileage...

For a speed freak acceleration you can have a different spors byke near a Bulldog...

With a -5secs-100km/h it will be close to any stock Porsche...of course if you handle the gearbox...:))

(many thanks to DE forum)

http://cms.bulldog-bt1100.de/i ndex.php?option=com_content&vi ew=article&id=190&Itemid=400&l ang=en

For those who fault the Bulldog for weight...well...you must be a real man to handle..the truth...but still you can gain at least -4-kg using Akra cans...personally i like it heavy because it give a great stability with the winds...and shape the piloting manner...

For those who fault Bulldog for 6-gear...you can put a 180 rear tyre to gain a little longer report (those who do that can advise us!)...sorry i cannot imagine more...maybe to change the 5-th gear ratio a little..but if you stay under 140km/h for cruising...its quite ok anyway...

That being said i hope you will love more your Dog and not beat him to death because failed behind a race track byke...who mistake the the track with the road :))

just curious if anyone on here is from Australia and has a power commander v and has had their bike dynotuned because I recently installed a full two bros exhaust along with a power commander v and Auto tune I downloaded the 2 bros map from dynojet but when I use my autotune it looks like its heading in the other direction I mean a lot leaner not nearly as rich as all the maps I've seen from the states I was thinking maybe its because of the low octane and added ethanol in their fuel, if anyone has a copy of their map from Australia I would really appreciate it

  • Sans Amp / Tonebone / Hartke / EBS / Korg px5...don,t forget the most important with Att.basses...are the eq.and the comp.

  • gotta agree with Marco Fazzini .... " I recorded my last album with a Line 6 Pod! When you have your clean sound recorded you can reamp, tweak, distort, duplicate,...it" etc... i'm recording my record that way too:) but of course it depends on what you want to do...and how....:) when it comes to sound everyone has different opinion of orchestration of the instruments together...and which recording method&solutions you're using for giving life to the basssss:)

  • I've thought about getting a mirror. Can you really see a wakeboarder or tuber back there while your underway? Does interfere at all with forward vision while standing or sitting with the bolster up?

  • Yeah you can see wake-boarders real well and it doesn't get in the way at all. I always clipped one on the windshield and that was the worst as far as looking foreword.

In these pictures you can see all three original pictures in the BB. From Guitar Player March 1986.

Bridge pickup appears to be of a Motion bass.

P type from other basses in the BB line.

That leaves the mystery neck pickup. To me it looks like a double "j" humbucker. At the time the bridge "J" pickup on the BB basses was a blade/rail type.

This has got me thinking. Maybe the neck pickup is an encapsulated twin blade/rail? If so, could the current Attitude neck pickup be a direct descendant from this?

Over to you Billy Sheehan and Yamaha :-)

  • True,I never noticed that...Come on Billy Sheehan, we need your help !

  • Billy soon changed the pickups out :-) I wonder if the neck pickup is similar to the neck one from the Motion bass but just mounted differently? Someone must know :-)

I see this bass as part of the evolutionary path to the current attitude. :-)

  • I've now found out that the Motion bass pickups and the RBX headless bass have dual blade jazz pickups under the covers :-) So the new attitude neck pickup is something similar :-)

Yesterday i took my Bully for a ride. After a short break, I found an old lady standing next to my bike. When I walked up to her she asked me if it was mine and what type it is. She told me that she is 82 years old and has only 20% eyesight left. But when she "saw" the Bulldog, she was reminded of her dead husband. He always was into special bikes and she´s sure that the Bulldog is special.

Then she asked if I could start her up, just to listen to the sound. Finally she said goodbye and stood there, waiting for me to drive away, enjoying the sound and remembering her husband ...

She made my weekend :)

  • Alex you can have a sport touring for a really big trip(around the world)...but only near a Bulldog :)) My belief was that MT-01 is more massive than the bulldog ..suited for the biggest and massive motorcyclist...(250kg+..the MT-01 weight)...

  • Christian...the university goes first!...the Bulldog is a character machine with a lot to offer...you have all the time in the world to own a MT-1 :))...

Just getting my 1st fj 12 the 17" exup wheel conversion has already been done just wondered if someone could recommend the best gearing to use.

I do like accelaration so was thinking 17 / 45 or 47 ?

  • i am in the uk, around here its the opposite, its all back lanes so better suited to "point & squirt" riding. Plus if you look at my photo's you will see where my heart lies

  • These bikes will point and squirt no matter what gearing you are on. Lots of power there. If you feel like you wont miss 5th gear...then I say go for it. Personally I wish my bike had a 6th gear.

  • John, as you're in the UK check out www.fjclub.co.uk, plenty of info and more if you join. If you're already a member then just pick up the phone tomorrow and ask Phil or send an email

I am going to go ahead and get a database started for our Attitudes. From a couple of the pictures I posted, folks started posting information about their Attitudes. It's interesting to see when our basses were made, and to follow the history of them, not to mention, to find where our fellow Attitude owners are. I can add more columns (as wanted/needed), but if you want to add your "wives" to the list, please post the following information. (When I get time, I'll make a dedicated page with a submission form, and possibly obtain a dedicated domain name.) For now, I'll host the list here:

Reply with the following:

Please use the following link to date them:

(Let me know if there are corrections to be made, or if you want to be taken off the list. This is in my "spare" time, so please be patient.)

  • how about a google docs spreadsheet? you can leave the link in the Group's description

  • I personally despise Google, and try my hardest not to touch their over-reaching products. ;)
