  • Hope it's not too personal a question but how much did this set you back?

I'd love an attitude standard or LTD II to mod, but looking more and more like I'm going to be going down the build route. As i'm thinking of building an HPH or an HPJ for some extra gurgle and bite, but every time I play P/J basses I miss the extra deep low end

  • Adam Castle I don't remember honestly- it was so long ago. But depending on how much you are looking to spend you're best bet might be to get a good MIM Fender or good Squire bass and upgrade it with routing and new pickups. You can get the pickups for under $100 each easily. And a good guitar shop will route the body, cut the pickguard, add whatever controls and outputs you need for probably only 2hours of bench work. Scour Craig's list, eBay, etc. for parts. Bodies necks pickups and all. But this page is also a great community for help. Post the question to the group and you will get tremendous help.

  • Thanks Jay! Kind of planning things out at the moment

A friend of mine is a fantastic bass builder so I'm going to ask him what and how much he could do, and if the price isn't too much higher may just go full custom which would give me little perks like custom sculpting and neck profile, 21/24 frets. Going to see what's out there second hand parts wise ;)

Hi everyone,

It is with heavy heart that I need to move this on, an absolutely stunning bass , to look at and to play. I have been the only owner and have had it since just before Xmas. Very little use outside of home and it is still in showroom condition.

Due to some other projects, I need the money, and this was last one in so unfortunately first one out, I would have no hesitation getting another of these basses one day.

I,m in the UK near Salisbury, send me a PM if you are interested.

Regards, James.

  • I have the same issue.. scared to go further in the lean cause I scraped the peg before and it gave me a freight. I wouldn't think different pegs would fix this. This isn't a race bike so I don't think it's ment to lean like track bikes on motogp.

  • The feelers on the stock pegs scrape before aftermarket pegs do. The Rizoma or other aftermarket pegs give you a little more lean room before scraping.

  • If u dont want to get new pegs u can take feelers off they just unscrew

Hallo zusammen hier mal ne Frage Problem an die deutsch sprachigen mäxchen... — Yamaha V-Max

This is my 05 1100. Bored, big cams. Modified and made the intake,,, simple fix for big and cooler air. Still uses the factory air box. I tried it without it and with. Better performance with the air box. Foot peg extensions for the ole lady,,,, gets her knees below her ass for longer rides and comfort. Made a new back seat, incorporating the factory seat to make it all still match and agaian be more comfort for long trips. Added a smart ass oil filter,,,, if you buy a six pack,,, you get 6 oil filter covers free. Made the back rest and luggage rack. It's made from throwing knives and an old saw blade. Just something to do on rainy days. I put a lot of effort into making the ole lady comfortable. We ride a lot of longer trips,,, pull a trailer from time to time.

  • Use duct tape.

  • Mine is a quick release so I don't have a D ring so I slide one end under the seat and click the seat black in and it holds just fine. Haven't ridden with it that way but I think it would hold fine.

  • Best way: take the strap and put it through the grab handle bars at the back seat and then do the strap up how you do your helmet. Tighten it and it's firm as anything I always take an extra helmet for my girl and this was the easiest and best way to do it :)

Hey guys — YAMAHA Attitude Ltd

Hey guys,

I've got my attitude LTD 2 for 2 years now, and I've been playing it for atleast around 3-6 hours every day. Recently I've gotten a horrible burning pain in my wrist, starting with a little when im not playing, and alot of pain after it, usually followed by a little bit of numbness in my wrist. I've tried some warming ups.. but they didnt seem to help...I play mostly with 2 fingers, somtimes 3 if its needed. I also rest my thumb under the P pickup but I tend to let it float around often.

Has anyone here ever experienced something similar? If so.. how did you get rid of it? I play mostly with 2 fingers, somtimes 3 if its needed. I also rest my thumb under the P pickup but I tend to let it float around often.

Tip of the day regarding the EBS signature pedal — YAMAHA Attitude Ltd

Tip of the day regarding the EBS signature pedal.

Most know, that its possible to mix two signals by hooking one up to the input and other to a loop.

It's also possible to split the signal by routing the signal to an amp from one of the loops and the output. In studio it's doable by inserting an instrument cable to the loop jack "just so" that the tip of the plug is in contact with the "ring part" of the jack.

For live us I'll wire a cable with a stereo plug in one end and a mono in the other, with ring to tip and sleeve to sleeve wiring.

Hope you get use out of this, to my knowledge, unintentional feature of this great pedal.

Go to pawn shops as well they usually have some top notch stuff way cheaper than the dealers. I just picked up a new bell helmet that cost someone. Almost 500.00 for 40.00 I actually bought two one is a new shoei with blue flat flames and it was at least 500 got them both for 80.00 bucks scored. Is there a location to out more liquid in our bikes My bike is making a hell... — Yamaha Stryker Owners

Is there a location to out more liquid in our bikes? My bike is making a hell of a lot more noise when it's hot compared to last year. Yes it's a noobie question. My oil is topped off. It's like a very constant hissing noise after an extended ride. I guess it could be my hyper charger working overtime, but I've had that all last season.

  • Video it for the noise and post. As for the liquid, if you did nothing to the system just check the reservoir and if at the full mark all should be fine. If you changed the fluid etc. you could have air in the system but that usually works itself out. Make sure the fan mounts are tight and that the blades aren't touching anything. Use sidewalk chalk(ask the neighbor kids for some) to mark the plastic on the radiator etc. and see if a wear pattern develops. You might have to jump the switch unless you want to ride and get it good and hot or the fan won't spin. I always thought it made a lot of noise. Might look for a better marine grade fan. Sort of like what you do for desktop computers you build(throw out the junk fans and get better/quieter ones...)

  • after my long hiatus... I've noticed the same thing Josh...Hi pitch wine noises... clunking of gears going in... etc.. etc.. and I'm thinking... did my bike do that before... is that normal? & have to remind myself.. I only did cosmetic repairs... I haven't torn apart the engine / radiator / clutch.. etc.. etc.. just have to get used the sounds again...

Hi folks I m having a little bit of a problem with my Billy Sheehan EBS pedal... — YAMAHA Attitude Ltd

Hi folks! I'm having a little bit of a problem with my Billy Sheehan EBS pedal and I think some of you guys can help me. Basically every time I turn it on, my volume changes SOOO MUCH and goes extremely high, that obviously is causing me problems with the mix when I play with my band. As of right now, this is my chain:

1.Bass

2.BS EBS (I've a rolls crossover on my clean loop and a ISP decimator II on my drive loop)

3.MXR Bass Compressor

4.Amp

I think that adding a volume knob is definitively a must a v2 of the pedal.

Thanks for all the help in advance!

  • Hi Robb Harper! I disconnected everything from the loops, my volume is the same with the clean at 9, as soon as I turn the "level" up a bit, the volume changes sooo much!

  • ok....so if you turn the clean down all the way and the level down all the way = no sound. Somewhere in between no sound and too much sound is what you need..When you turn up the clean that is your clean tone. The level is the "level" of the distortion. You can turn the clean down all the way and just turn up the "level" distortion. So start with your level knob all the way down.Your clean sound should be (for simplicity's sake) equal in volume with the pedal on or off. So starting from all the way down "slowly" turn up, the clean knob, play a few notes, turn the pedal off, play a few notes. Turn the clean knob up until the levels are the same when the pedal is on or off. Then blend in the level knob . which is the distortion. My clean knob is at about 1:30 and my level is at 10:30 (using clock lingo) drive 9:30 tone 9:15. COMP switch is in the middle.

  • Also check to be sure your pedals knobs are on right. The white line on the knob should match the lower left line when the volume is all the way down on the clean channel. And so on for the rest. Here's a shot of my pedal setting the first day. I now usually set the drive on full, tone about 10 o'clock. I ride the level per song, usually between 7 o'clock to 10 o'clock, and clean at 12 o'clock. On for the whole gig! It's the heart of my single amp rig. With my two output basses I plug the woofer pickup into the clean loop with a regular cable. The other pickup goes in the main input with the arrow. It acts like a mixer before the built in compressor. The pedal can be used as an special effect but it's main design is to be like Billy's entire rig in one box so single output basses and one amp can get that "chainsaw through chocolate" tone.

hi i m about to purchase my first xs650 engine block for a caferacer project... — Yamaha XS650

hi! i'm about to purchase my first xs650-engine block for a caferacer project, and i have a few questions: i believe there are 2 types of blocks ( 447 & 533) i'll be buying the block from a guy that has several stacked in his garage so i want to know, which one is the best, and more importantly, which one is the best for a 277degree rephasing of the crankshaft... really wanna get that done, or in fact try and do it myself... and also, how can i tell which block is what type? (i think i'll be taking off the heads to check the cilinders when i go there, but i won't go further than that...) so are there any outside markings or differences between the 2 types? thx!

  • 447 left & 533 right

  • i can't open the engine to check for those numbers on the rods ofcourse, i'll have to go with the serial numbers!

  • And I've learnt that you can always switch crankshaft, rods, pistons -set between 447 & 533. And that there are small differences between 447 & 533 engine blocks but not any major ones.

So there I was riding on the highway innocently It s the truth Within legal... — Yamaha V-Max

So there I was riding on the highway innocently. It’s the truth. Within legal speed limits (as always of course). It’s the truth. I was cruising at 90kmh on a 90kmh limit highway. It’s the truth. It was night time and all of a sudden behind me I heard this loud grumble of low frequency sounds. Before I knew it, the headlights were so close to me that it was unmistakable what was happening. Vrods. About 20 or 30 of them. So close to me. They had taken all the lanes but they wanted to occupy one lane only and the ones in front started ‘tailgating’ me. I simply accelerated to give myself distance from them. All of a sudden they all went past me ALL IN THE ONE LANE. Suddenly I got angry. Why overtake me in my own lane on both right and left. There was so many of them so I had to first wait for many of them to pass.

This is where the Vmax is in happy territory: when there was a safe gap I simply downshifted and when the remaining ones tried to overtake I gave the max some throttle. I saw the guy on my left try to go past me but he just had no power. I stayed with him, and then simply flicked my right wrist and left him way behind. The max left that vrod behind so effortlessly. It is such wonderful machine, how smoothly it can do that. The max went so fast that within a few seconds I was already with the main group. They decided that they were going to go faster, so this time I gave them a taste of their own medicine and overtook near their own lane. The guy at the front (their leader perhaps) tried to take me on. What a mistake that was. Another flick of the wrist and this time I didn’t want any doubt whatsoever. So I sped off and he could not keep up. Then I slowed down as the speeds were getting a bit…well, you know. By this stage, these guys must have wondered what the hell just hit them because they stayed behind me at a close distance but they didn’t even try and overtake me.

The icing on the cake was when they took the next exit.

The idiocy of it all though. To overtake someone on both sides of the same lane. But the max as always did its thing. What can I say, with this bike even the fastest bike out there (ZX14?) has to be careful with the max’s acceleration. Those vrods found out the hard way. And I should know – I used to ride a vrod. But I’ll say this: it was pretty cool to see them all in one group like that. Thirty vrods is a good sight to behold, nice sound, nice looking bikes, that sort of thing.

  • Dont push the throttle to much in the bends, these bikes have a mind of there own, that back tire will come right out from under you in the bends if caution is not taken, enjoy your Max!!!

Ok guys I need some help My bike has about 1 400 miles on it and at about mile... — Yamaha Bolt

Ok guys, I need some help. My bike has about 1,400 miles on it and at about mile 700 I started hearing a faint ticking, it's most noticeable while riding. Took it into the shop they said that's normal. But to be honest, it's annoying and sounds like crap. Anyone else have this problem? And no, right now I can't afford louder pipes.

  • Once I get the V&H pipe won't hear it I think coz with stock pipe the bike is so quiet sounds like a scooter

  • Lol yup I hated that stock pipe!

  • Yeah I lost the stock one in week 1. Otherwise love the bike. My dad has a Sportster, I'll keep my Bolt

Does anyone know how far you can go when the low fuel light comes on I made it... — Yamaha Bolt

Does anyone know how far you can go when the low fuel light comes on? I made it with the F on (fuel) odometer reading 8.1 miles.

  • I see the avg bein about 20-30 with a few ppl running out at 20...dont push it!

  • I went 34 miles on mine to test it. I now won't go over 25 miles on it.

  • A tip from experience, fill up after every ride or on day trips at half a tank. Yamaha's Raider has a pretty consistent reputation of having the fuel pump stop working at around ~25k-35k mi. Mine crapped out at 18.5k miles. I took many day long rides and filled up on gas when the light came on. As it turns out running your gas tank to the last drop is the fastest way to burn up your fuel pump and trust me when it goes out there are no warning signs, you're stranded wherever you happened to be you will be there for a while. (or until a tow truck can get you). after that costly repair, I never run the tank under half and top her off before getting home after every ride. I also put an once of fuel additive at each fill up ( I use Lucas fuel additive but there are others). A bonus from the additive is +MPG average for the Raider is 35mpg, and I get 48-50mpg. You can take my word for it about the fuel pumps or wait and see if the Bolts suffer the same fate has the Raiders it up to you.

Ok have a question or two I ve finally got the bike all back together and... — Yamaha Stryker Owners

Ok... have a question or two... I've finally got the bike all back together and have noticed two things... 1) Filled up the gas tank and while I have no leaks... I am noticing that it's only reading two pips on the gauge. Could it be that that float / sensor is in backwards... I've got it so the wires are facing in towards the tank. 2) Just noticed my rear brake is not "engaging" the brake light (front brake engages the light just fine). I've done the brake mod and I thought it was working before but with all the other stuff I put on I'll have to go over the line and see if I've broken it somewhere... *shrugs*... Hope to have it all cleaned up and pic's posted tonight....

  • sounds like a plan... either meet at Josh & Amanda's... or over by the Sand Dunes... lake side...

  • BTW, while frustrating for you think of all the future gas tank removal/paint jobs that you have saved this unfortunate step. I say get a beer from every one of them!! Still feel Yamaha(and many other mfg's) should make these things more idiot proof by only allowing the screws to align 1 way...

  • Yep.. no kidd'n!
