So when I hooked the battery up after being stored all season and then turn the battery switch on I get a constant high pitch alarm signal. It sounds just like a water depth alarm and will not clear. All gages and instruments read normal and the boat starts fine and runs great with no obvious issues. Anyone have any thoughts on why the alarm is sounding?

  • is the battery fully charged?? it will alarm if the battery volts drop below a certain threshold

  • Concur...sounds like the battery isn't fully charged.

  • Someone else posted this same problem and it was stated either a low battery or a bad cell, but battery was the root cause. Good luck, going out to hook mine up this week, fingers crossed.

  • Thanks guys. The battery was tested and fully charged. I agree that it sounds like the cause, but in this case doesn't seem to be it. A friend of mine told me the alarm was probably due to the fact that I didn't spent enough money on the boat before putting it into the water! HAHA!

I took the boat into the dealer so maybe the computer can see what may have been tripping the alarm? I will keep you posted. Thanks for the replies...

  • It was diagnosed as a faulty tachometer which needs replaced. $$$
