Speed wobble , just had a thought , been trying to stop my camera shaking and in my investigation , ie , pulling all the plastic off around the tank to see about screwing it down , i noticed that the black plastic top cowl , around the front edge of the tank , is basically like a bloody wind scoop , so at pace , the wind getting forced under the headlights , has no where to go , which will surely lift the front wheel creating speed wobble ... I will be testing out morrow , thoughts anyone ? ....

  • What you had done to seat ? Gel padding or summit ? ...

  • Though the seat wasn't massively uncomfortable the long long long rides I have to do for work meant I still would rather have a little more comfort so over had gels inserts put in and a little off the sides so my legs are not digging into the side of the seat.

  • Nice , was that from the standard seat ? I got the comfort seat , so have originals just sat it a box in garage , thought might do summit , like extra padding , thinning out and colour stitching , let me know how yours feels please ....

  • Ian, have you tried adjusting suspension settings yet? With the preload backed off a tad this will give you a little more sag at the front which means it will sit with a marginally more nose-down attitude, which is yet another reason to play with settings.

  • I've got mine set in the back (following advice from dealer) fully turned back in then one full turn out. Made a little difference but not much. The front will be as in came from the shop

  • Don't need to Phil , it's solid up to limit , apart from what I consider normal movement , my point on the cowl , was just cos I had the thing off and noticed it is like a wind break underneath , so in high winds , especially side wind , with the cowl off she held the road better but the noise was painful , still day she's great . If I get any kind of movement at pace i just put a tad more weight over the front , job done ....

  • I've got the comfort seat too. Its an improvement but not a massive one in my opinion. I've been thinking about sending the original seat off for some gel inserts or get a complete custom job from Top Sellerie.

  • You had seat done by them before Phil ? .... Im hefty , so think comfort seat suits me , think some of the slimmer guys not noticing much difference , does get bit hard after 100 miles or so ....

  • I bought a complete custom solution from them for my ZZR1400 and it was awesome and a thing of beauty. I couldn't manage my 40 mile daily commute on the standard seat. The comfort seat is a fair bit better but my delicate and not-unsubstantial buttocks require more cossetting.

  • Well 200 trip in the sopping wet rain from Cambridge to Salford Uni and although my boots have decided to now leak I'm a happy guy.

A little numb, but what do you expect from riding a bike but no Ball ache (my main issue)!

So pleased with a tasty discount from my seat man a sleek spent £45
