HELP — Yamaha Blasters Only

HELP!!!

My buddy just bought a blaster and it has a constant downshift. Meaning when you are in first gear you can keep clicking the shifter down like it's not in first gear. We tore it apart for the 2nd time and put it all back in the correct way and all the transmission parts look okay. I've rebuilt many blasters before but this is a first and I'm stumped. Any ideas????

Yamaha Blaster — Yamaha Blasters Only

All original 100% stock 1995 Yamaha Blaster for sale. The factory back tires will be put back on and sold that way. This quad is really nice it has never had a wrench on the engine and it was serviced and garage kept since it was bought new. Not many hours on the engine. The carb screw on the bowl drips slightly but it runs and rides I never got a chance to fix that. It's taking up room and I need the money otherwise I would not be selling it. No title. Bill of sale will be written. If you have any questions please ask or pm me. Pick up only. Located in Leola, Pa.

Why does no one ever agree on builds lol — Yamaha Blasters Only

Why does no one ever agree on builds lol

I'm building a blaster for the trails. I've parted out 14 blasters this year and finally got my hands on a Vitos.

I was very excited to send the Vitos out, until reading the recent thread about them!

I'm looking to build a trail racer to run off premium pump, not race fuel.

Should I just sell this vitos kit and send out one of my stock Jap jugs and heads for this build instead???

Please note, while the quad is very presentable, it's 10 years plus old and is showing cosmetic signs of wear and tear. Paint chips, wear on frame etc. Mechanically it is A1 and doesnt want for anything. tyres are getting low but plenty of life left yet, that's the only thing worth mentioning and just being honest.

The quad has very recently been stripped down to the chassis and every part inspected and replaced if required, with intentions to race this summer, however, a change in circumstances forces sale.

Cash on collection please, delivery possible but please ask beforehand.

Thanks for looking, any questions please ask.

Photos from Jon Gilbert's post — Yamaha Blasters Only

Hey guys i just got my sons case halfs cleaned up. Doing a complete bottom and top end rebuild. The last post o had showed his piston with a hole in it like the last picture. Pieces of piston went down to the crank bearings. So i split the case and clean found a hair line crack on stator side in goes thru second case bolt hole from the top. Also wear on the cases from counter balancer and some nicks on balancer. The bearings seem good. So one before me has had this motor apart before. Crank was noy factory and after removing crank bearings you can see where they used a punch and nicked the case when tapping. Question is i know it all can be welded by reading your guys posts but is it just better to buy cases..... thanks for all your help on advance.

FYI. KOR just bought a bunch of Blaster cylinders and heads from Ebay. My plan is to port these cylinder up front for stock trail rides and have them on my shelf ready to ship the same day I receive your re-buildable core. No need to wait. You'll get a freshly bored, ported cylinder, modified head for pump fuel, OE top end gaskets, top end bearing, and Wiseco piston. Give me two weeks and I'll have three kits on the shelf. Not really a for sale post. Just looking for comments.

Technically the "Powerband" most talk about is when the motor is making peak volumetric efficiency (Torque) and everything above that curve in the RPM range until it falls of the pipe (2stroke)or Cam (A 4stroke). The power hit on the 2stroke is more abruptly pronounced because of its design and any motor can be designed to have a smooth or hard (peaky) powerband. Obviously most 2 strokes are inefficient until the porting and pipe design come together rapidly increasing Volumetric efficiency making the torque quickly rise along with the RPMs which make Horsepower and so thats what you feel.

I picked up a cheapo and the clutch was always engaged. The kid said he put the clutch in and it was at the end of it's adjustment. I bought a wiseco clutch, and took apart the old clutch today. It really doesn't look bad, but I noticed the "damper" I think it's called isn't in there. Maybe a dumb question, and feel free to roast me if it is, but do aftermarket clutches use the damper still? Anyone have a schematic of the clutch blown up? I found one but the quality was so bad I couldn't see it. Thanks in advance for any help.

I need of the 8" rim but does anyone have a manual not a owners but a service manual it's the 06 model sure nothing has ever been changed on the blaster except when they put the headlight inside the plastics I need all the specs and the easiest way is to bite the bullet and buy a manual and the picture with my son was three years ago when I just got it the one where it's broke down is now but should be together riden in a week at most finally got tired of being lazy and not fixing it but rim and manual if anyone has one

Yamaha blaster — Yamaha Blasters Only

Runs and rides good. Doesnt smoke excessively or make any funky noises. Only issue is the rear brakes are weak. They work, but aren't very strong. Hasn't bothered me too much. Quad is in darn good shape overall for the year and not beat on like most blasters out there. So if your gonna think about low balling just scroll on by to the beat up and ripped on 650 dollar POS. 1994 was the only year for this Miami vice like color scheme. She's a beach cruiser for sure. Farm quad for many years...Pretty much stock besides the cooler rack, handguards, and grips...Comes with a set of rear paddle tires on ITP wheels. Lights work and tires in decent shape. This ol gal won't let you down. Located in Kalamazoo, MI
