Hey everyone! I delayed longer than I should have in getting my seasonal service on my 2014 AR192 (around 60hrs) but I'd like to get it done in the next few weeks.

Yamaha quoted me $300-$500 (he was away from the computer and would need to look it up). He mentioned the typical oil and plugs as well as checking the pumps.

My question is, is it really that easy to do the service myself? I don't have a sump to change the oil but have heard it's a fairly straight forward process.

Are there any issues I should be concerned with? Is it fairly easy to do myself? Are there any other aspects that are covered with yamaha service doing it that are recommended?

Thanks so much guys/gals!!!

Looking for advise, my 05 sx230ho needs new impellers...

debating on buying solus off eBay New for $209 each, or oem style replacement for $120 each, looking for feedback on both options. I do ski, wakeboard, and tube behind boat. Enjoy days out with 8-10 people sometimes, and don't care too much about top speed, as I'm lucky to hit 45mph right now with dings in my impellers from before I bought boat last year.. any feedback would be appreciated.

Anyone figure out semi permanent way to pull a jetski behind your boat — YAMAHA JETBOATERS

Anyone figure out semi-permanent way to pull a jetski behind your boat? We have an AR240 and would love to bring our jetski out but we usually venture home in the dark and would rather pull the jetski behind the boat. Was thinking of maybe some PVC piping with some type of hinge setup so the pipe keeps the jetski away from the boat when we let off the throttle. Anyone have any ideas?

Where's the tattooed guy from Florida on here with the crazy sound system on his AR? I want to know if he needed to upgrade the alternator/ stators. Is there a math equation I can do to see the limits of what the charging system can handle? I want to add more speakers to my already insane setup. My boat is in motion with motors running when I have it full blast.

Started the boat finish restore today. 2008 SX230HO. It sits on a boat lift at our dock since new and it's really badly oxidized on one side. Cleaning and waxing has not staved it off. I'm using the Meguiar's fiberglass restoration system. Three steps; oxidation remover, polish, then wax. I'm about halfway done with the oxidation remover and very satisfied with it so far. Here's a before and after shot.

Hello everyone. It's that time of year again to get maintenance done on the 2014 242. I know Yamaha recommends a full diagnostic workup on the engines annually. I have followed that advice and have been getting it done at the dealer annually for about 400.00-450.00 (along with the oil change). It includes compression tests and so forth. Does everyone else get it done annually? The boat is run in fresh and salt water and is well maintained.

Considering taking our 2016 ar240 from Okc to Lake Havasu, Az this coming July to a family reunion. Anyone have any experience towing that far along I-40? My wife is very nervous about the trip but if I'm going to be at a lake for a week I'd like my boat there. It would be crazy to pay $400/day to rent when we already own one. I did just replace the crap tires that came with the trailer with some nice, balanced radials.

Just sold my AR192. Looking to jump into a 24ft. Just can't make up my mind between the following options:

                  Left over 2016 Yamaha 242 Limited S

                  2017 Yamaha 242 Limited S E-Series

Both boats are white. I like that clean look. I really love the tech features in the E series. But hate the fixed tower.

Obviously, I'll be saving about $10k going with the left over. I'm thinking the E would hold a better resale value down the road.

                  Any thoughts ?

                    '11 242LS DRAIN PLUG

Does anyone happen to be familiar with the drain plugs on a 2011 242 LS?

I'm interested in a setup from boatpluglight.com and I want to know what the factory threads are (1/2" NPT?), if the female threads are metal or plastic (I believe plastic), and how you remove the factory plug that has the catch fingers to keep you from losing it?

My boat is in storage so any help on the drain plug (or experience the lights) are appreciated!

QUIET CRUISE NOISE REDUCTION. WHAT S THE REALLY REALLY ON IT — YAMAHA JETBOATERS

QUIET CRUISE/NOISE REDUCTION: WHAT'S THE REALLY, REALLY ON IT?

I'm looking for anyone with Quiet Cruise experience before/after Yamaha implemented it, and how significant the noise reduction really is.

I have an 2011 242LS and looking at '16 242 LS E. I'd like to know if, or what rpm range has the most noticeable improvement.

No wake speeds on my '11 are fine, but you can't have a conversation at cruising speeds (~3000+) due to the high pitch of the engines.

Scouring the net, I've found a reference to a 5-12db reduction in the newer models compared to the pre- Quiete Cruise, and I've seen other sources that report a 10db reduction equates to a 50% reduction in sound by the human ear.

Has anyone had/driven a 2010-2014 model vs 2015 or newer model that can attest?

*I'd be happy to hear of any other other benefits on the newer models. All of the changes (hinged seats, transom setback storage, bow locker, bimini, Connext, keel, and solar trickle cell) are a big pluses for me, but what over/underwhelms you?

Dock Edger Bumper Recommendations — YAMAHA JETBOATERS

                          Dock Edger Bumper Recommendations?

What brand/style do you recommend for edging your slip to protect the boat? My slip has a standard canvas 'D' style edging and it hasn't been enough to protect my haul from marring, starching, & gouging my boat. This winter I've had the fiberglass repaired and graphics replaced but I wan't to replace/upgrade edging that the marina has put on it. What do you all recommend?

Does anyone get an occasional over temp alarm on their Yamaha? I'll get an over temp alarm. I turn the engines off for a few minutes and then turn them back on and the alarm is usually gone for the day. The mechanics couldn't find anything wrong with the engines the last time I brought it in. I'm wondering if there is an issue with the sensor. Thoughts?

Good afternoon everyone. Seeking some help with an issue. I have a 2014 242 with stock trailer. So this morning i towed my boat to the house for a nice cleaning (did so with no problems). However afterwards as we pulled out the drive way a loud pop was heard by the people standing outside. From inside the car I heard the sound and felt a vibration. It kind of felt like I may have dropped the trailer off a curb. Upon inspecting I was nowhere near the curb. Anyway upon reaching my destination and backing it into a spot we noticed a loud clicking on the ride side of the trailer. Like metal hitting or even like rocks banging against each other. We can identify it's coming from the front passenger side tire area. I removed the rubber bearing buddy cover from that tire and there was a big clump of dark grey grease on the wrong side of the bearing buddy. In other words the only thing keeping it in was the rubber cap I pulled off. The other three bearing buddies from the other tires all look good. Anyone ever encounter this type of situation ? Any help is greatly appreciated.
