I am at a loss....what better quality brake calipers will slot straight onto the OEM 84 RZ forks, pinchbolt gap is a meezly 40mm!!! The OEM calipers look terrible, and am pretty sure they are going to suck even with a full rebuild, braided lines, and a new master cylinder...Or am i going to have to get adapter plates to use other calipers of some quality??? I have gone down the adaptor plate road before, when i put radial mount R1 calipers on my FZ6 fighter...is there a kit available??? Sorry, my RZ knowledge is shite! oh yeah, i dont want to change forks, and wheels, i like the old school 18 inch mag wheels!

Hey guys, am hoping this is a simple request, but does anyone have a link to Yamaha paint colour names and codes...preferably for a Kenny Roberts tribute RZ350 in red, white and blue...mostly need the codes for the gold paint on the wheels, and the white paint on the body panels...searching on the net without much luck. :(

Have listed the 421 kit on eBay. Selling because we wanted the Cheetah not the cub.........

Fast have offered to take them back, but I would prefer them to stay here. Parts are offered at a lot less than what they cost.

        Thank you

So this is what my tank looked like when.We got the paint off, all the bits that still ain't stripped, is bog from.a previous fix, we suspect that under that bog is a hole or two, but there are no moisture marks, so I could be lucky..still it could of been a lot worse! Update tomorrow after the bog has been attacked! :-)

Question time. Does the battery need to be charged for the VPVS system to work correctly...as i have read that when adjusting VPVS system, you need a charged battery for it to cycle when you turn on ignition...so, would it be the case, that without a charged battery , the system would not work properly? Sorry, newbie question, as this is my first bike with a VPVS powervalve system!

Well its home! Seat is off being recovered, tank about to go to get repaired, and I am spending Australia Day taking photo's, as I pull it apart to start the rest! She actually looks to be in pretty decent condition under all the rust, and knackered paint! On close inspection, rust on frame is only surface rust, and that should come up a treat with a blast, which will also show any rust damage which may be further advanced than it appears right now. As the bloke from Retro Yamaha spares said, I stole this thing for $1000! It's even got it's original tool kit :-)

So here is my first project on the rebuild, one very rusty tank! There is a spot on the top of the tank that looks very nasty, could almost put my finger through it if I tried hard enough, and you can see where it has a bodged fix on the seam of the tank, on the underside of the tank, frankly, the top worries me more than the bottom...ain't blasting this one! Paint stripper, then see what horrors await under that very dodgy rattle can paint job!

I've got RZ500s but not a lot of experience with the RZ250 and 350. Probably a silly question but is there much difference between the cases on the 250 and 350 motors? I assume the difference between the two is just crank and barrels. Could you drop an aftermarket banshee crank and barrels into a 250 bottom end?
