Love my 650 Classic! had her since near new only 380k's, and my wife of 38 years and I have only in the last 12 months found the 2 wheel dream and have travelled well over 3000 k's thru Sth East Qld. I thought I needed a bigger bike, but she purrs along just fine! Added Airhawk cushions for the longer rides which are a blessing! Just under 8000 on the clock now and lovin every K its putting down! Now the cooler weather is on us, cant wait to explore even more! Panniers and screen from Bibblebar. Highly recommended! I enjoy all the posts on this site! Secretly would love some apes, sshhhhh! Yamaha V-Star 1100 Custom — Yamaha V - Star XVS Riders Australia

Hi guys, I have my V-Star up for sale. I am the second owner from brand new, and bike has a full service history. I upgraded to this bike from a v-star 650, and have loved every moment of it. I have done a bit of touring on this bike and has proven to be reliable and enjoyable to ride.

This v-star over the last month has had a big service done (brake, engine, final gear oils replaced. Top end tune, new spark plugs, carbs synced etc, as per what was required in the service manual. New rear tyre was fitted last week! No money to spend, ready to hit the road!

      Some modifications include:

      Burleigh 1.25" bars

      Mirrors

      Grips

      Polished fork sliders

Spike air cleaner (k&n filter and rejetted to suit)

      Performance 2-1 exhaust

      Quick release saddle bags

      Tail tidy

      Forward food controls

Stock parts included with the bike:

      Exhaust

      Air cleaner box

      Indicators

Front and rear controls and foot pegs

      Mirrors

I am selling because I have brought another bike now, and this one is no longer needed. Would make the perfect upgrade to someone that's possibly just coming off a lams bike, and is looking for a mid range cruiser that handles really well, and is easy to ride.

So i've been told by a number of people that trying to do the P's test on a cruiser (mine is a 650 custom) is just too difficult and i should look at renting one of their bikes for the test or try and get my hands on a small sports style bike. Has anyone here had the same hurdle to overcome? Any thoughts or advice?

WANTED : Cardo Scala Headset — Yamaha V - Star XVS Riders Australia

Hi, we are looking for a cheap headset, must be Cardo Scala to connect to our existing headsets for the nephew who has started coming along for rides as pillion.

Does anyone have one laying around that they've already upgraded and might be willing to sell cheap?

I believe we have the Q2 twinset... so we need something compatible with that.

Never one to brag but here's another good reason to love the XVS 1300a.

Basic oil and filter change is a simple 15 min exercise requiring one spanner, one drain tray, a filter and supply of oil.

                1. Remove sump plug bolt (easily accessed under engine) and allow oil to flow into drain tray, not your driveway or lawn

                2. Remover filler cap to enable oil to flow more freely.

                3. Using same spanner you used for sump plug bolt, undo and remove oil filter* that is also easily accessible under engine.

                4. Attach new filter and tighten.

                5. Replace sump plug bolt and tighten.

                6. Fill engine with about 3.25 ltrs of oil. Check oil level, if ok replace filler cap.

                7. Run engine and check for leaks. If none, pack up, get your gear on and go for a ride.

                * Some filters dont have "nut" on top so you'll need a filter grip. Recommend buying replacement filter that has "nut" as it makes things so much easier.

A rant from me and a stay safe message... this morning going to work a cager hit me from behind, let his car roll near 10 meters but doesn't know how it happened. I suggested he may have been playing with his phone or his c*ck. This is the third time in around a month... last two rolled into the front of the bike, all my fault allege the drivers as the yell at me until I show them the flashing light on the camera mounted on my bike. My message, no matter what we do for our safe commute there are idiots in cars with distractions who have no f*cking idea... STAY SAFE

Hi People — Yamaha V - Star XVS Riders Australia

                      Hi People,

Just got back from a 1200km round trip on my xvs650a classic.. Corryong to Cabramurra to Cooma to Canberra to Batemans bay to Merimbula to Eden to Jindabyne to Thredbo and back to Corryong.. My first biggish trip on the bike. Now, I've found that my tailbone was absolutely killing! Got to the point that every 20 to 30km I'd have to pull up for a few minutes. Any one else have a similar problem? If so, what's the best fix for it, New seat, Airpad things or a Back rest? Thanks in advance.

Today, you wouldn't believe it.....decided to go for a short spin.....turn the key and nothing, check the battery, under 12v....normally 13v.

Jump from the car started straight away so off i go, need fuel in Wallan....stop....No Start....got a jump start from a local and rode home.....checked the battery....now just over 12v.....put her on trickle charge and hope it brings it back.

Now that i have a new stator, shouldn't that have kept the battery charged....something not right.....what else can drain a battery apart from stupid

It's a WARNING ⚠️ I KNOW But for what my speedo cable went I fixed that an it's still Flashing Clutch is slipping a bit is it that?? Or is it wiring as my headlight stopped working few months ago but mechanic got it working again??

Also has anyone put 100 mm risers on there classic 650 from the standard ones An can you do it without changing any of the cables. Cheers an hopefully I can get some answers

Very well maintained bike, in almost flawless condition. Always sleeps in the garage and is serviced ahead of schedule. 16xxx kms. This is a recreational bike and is generally only ridden on weekends and in good weather.

A head turner with perfect paint and aside from a blemish on the front header pipe, the chrome is too. White Classics are a little harder to come by and one in this condition is nearly extinct.

The mods list ticks most of the "must do" boxes on these bikes:

                                            - Z1R Diamond Seat

                                            - V&H Short Shots - Standard and Quiet Baffles provided

                                            - Stealth Big Air & Jet Kit

                                            - Lowered Rear

                                            - 4" Forward Controls

                                            - Kuryakyn Grips

The sale will also include the OEM pipes, rider and pillion seat. Registered until Jan 2018.

She's finally home today 4 weeks and 1 day after dropping her off to have the clutch replaced at 17,500klms. The reason for the delay?, simply Yamaha Australia's incompetence, followed by arrogance, and they are still to provide a clutch which was ordered 4 weeks ago. My Mechanic had to chase up an aftermarket one. After I complained on the Yamaha Motor Australia FB site, they removed the post, and only after I further embarrassed them on FB, they sent a message over a week ago saying they'd check with their spare parts section. Haven't heard from them since. Great customer service Yamaha Australia. The lesson here, don't drop your bike off until you have the parts, according to my mechanic they still can't supply the poor bloody dealers.

I just caught someone trying to steal my bike.

I'm in the Campbeltown area and just had a black 2001~ model ford laser hatch with an exhaust do laps up and down my street (culdesac) and then stop 2 houses up and drop off a bloke, late 30's, early 40's with a bald head and a chopper Reid moustache, my dogs went nuts so I checked it out and when he noticed me looking straight at him he quickly walked past my house looking at me and my bike and jumped in the car which was waiting around the corner just out of view. I put my bike in the garage and as soon as I put the roller door down the laser sped off before I could get the rego. Driver was female, roughly same age with faded long red hair and looked like your typical scum bag, car also had 2 other males in it but I didn't get a good look at them.

Keep them safe guys, there's people after them. Will be locking my bike up every time I get off it now.

Just seeing if anyone is interested in my Vstar 650. It has very low ks with only13,000 on the clock. Tyres are all good and it have Vance & Hinse short shot exhausts. It has been J Slammed so it sits low in the rear to give it an awesome stance and is still comfy when riding. It has 10 inch mini apes which are perfect, not to high.

It has rego till August and is learner approved

Only selling as I get my blacks soon and will be looking to upgrade.

I'm after cash only so no swaps and stupid offers will be ignored.

Trying to be as minimalist as I can with the bike without doing the bobber thing , so......swingarm bag gone , front and rear factory indicators gone , lowered a coupla inches , Jono's 4 inch forwards... Not sure what to do next on the cheap . Sorry bout the shit video . Just put it on to get ideas of what next and or the famous criticism the page is known for ..all good either way :-)

All i can go by is how it drives. As he didn't give me proof . It starts without choke and drives great.

                                                          Hi guys.

I bought a brand new vstar 650 a few months ago and I just took it in for its first service.

It is my first ever bike and other than the compulsory 2 day learner course, I had no prior riding experience.

So far im enjoying the bike but I already feel like it doesnt have enough power.

Im a big guy (6'6 and 115kgs) and was wondering if my size would be a big factor?

Also I have been thinking about getting the pod kit ive seen advertised by Craig but Im concerned that it might void my factory warranty if I was to install it. Anyone have any info regarding this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated .

Interesting story, riding to Daveron Park I pulled over to close up my toolroll as I had gotten my clear glasses out for the night ride. Later on I got to the Salisbury bottle-o and bought some beer and put it on my cargo rack, I reached for my toolroll to grab a cargo strap to secure it, only to realise my drinks were my tool roll used to be. WELL SHIT, MY TOOLROLL FELL OFF!!!!.

On the way there I took Commercial Rd, Kettering Rd, Salisbury Hway, Main North Rd, Rd onto Womma and Heytesbury. On the Return. I took Petherton, Peachey, Winterslow, Elizabeth Way, Gillingham, Oxenham, Playford Blvd, Phillip Hway, Salisbury Hway to Eureka Tavern where I noticed it missing.

Have attached a picture, if anyone finds it, please contact me. It contains First Aid Kit, Allen Keys, Tyre pressure gauge, luggage ties, microfiber clothes and a small brown pouch with black rubber gloves and 2 spare face masks. Nothing expensive but important for safe riding. Many thanks.

Stoked with the result . Still bright when used . (The lenses were clear , my bike is a 2014 model , not sure how it would go with the older orange lenses )
